Welcome to the Women in Public Service Summit Website

We look forward to welcoming you to Aotea Centre, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland on Thursday, 16 November 2023

Tēnā koutou, Noa’ia e mauri, Tālofa lava, Kia orana, Mālō e lelei, Taloha ni, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Fakatalofa atu, Ni sa bula vinaka. Heartfelt greetings to you all.

On behalf of Te Aka Wāhine o Tāmaki, Auckland Government Women’s Network, and the Auckland Summit organising committee, it is with much joy and gratitude, I welcome you to our annual Women in Public Service Summit, 2023.

The aim of the day is to provide you with a programme full of inspiring speakers, opportunities to reflect on your professional development, and to connect and build lasting relationships with wāhine across the Public Service. The whakataukī chosen to inspire our hui this year is:

Ma te kotahitanga e whai kaha ai tātau, In unity we have strength.

Kotahitanga is a Māori term which means togetherness. It emphasises the concept of unity and working together to achieve common goals.

The concept of Ma te kotahitanga e whai ai tātau underpins this Women in Public Service Summit, highlighting the importance of the Public Service striving to work better together to deliver prosperous, healthy, and sustainable outcomes for all the communities we serve in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Weaving Ma te kotahitanga e whai kaha ai tātau through our hui, we welcome you to hear the whakaaro of our manukura and fellow colleagues, on how together, we can support, and uplift one another, to achieve these outcomes.

We look forward to you joining us to learn, grow and connect across this day, which we know will be abundant with stimulating kōrero, laughter, reflection, and debate.

Faiake’sea, me ngā mihi maioha,

Sarah Leo
